This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL was acquired by the current owner in 2000 and repainted in 2008. It is finished in Silver Gray Metallic over black MB-Tex and is powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six utilizing a rebuilt long block paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a black convertible top, a removable hardtop, 14? steel wheels with painted covers, and a Sony cassette stereo linked with a CD changer. The transmission and rear differential were reportedly rebuilt in 2023. This W113 SL is now offered as part of Mohr Imports’ Monterey Car Week Collection on dealer consignment at no reserve with spare parts and a clean California title.

The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. This example is finished in Silver Gray Metallic (180) and was repainted in 2008 following replacement of the rear panel and body work on the right fender and hood along with rust repairs on the right quarter panel and nose panel. Features include black pinstripes, side moldings, a black soft top, a removable hardtop, and US-specification headlights. The left front turn signal lens is cracked and the seller notes the soft top bows are not fully connected.

The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in black MB-Tex that extends to the door panels. A Sony cassette stereo in the dash is wired to a 10-disc CD changer and Kenwood rear speakers. The air conditioning system and clock are inoperative. The dash wood is warped, the dash pad is cracked, the door pockets are sagging and separating, there are duct tape repairs on the passenger seat, and additional wear is noted on the driver’s seat and carpets. Replacement seat covers, headrests, and wooden trim pieces will accompany the car.
